IREN has $33.6 million of quarterly AI Cloud revenue.
Its target is more than $4 billion of AI Cloud ARR by year-end 2026.
That is a huge attempted jump. The contracts are coming first. Now IREN has to build, fund, and deliver.
IREN’s Contracts Come Before the Revenue
About 85% of the target is said to be under contract, with a four-year weighted average contract term.
The named contracts include:
- A five-year, $9.7 billion Microsoft agreement
- A $3.4 billion Nvidia deal
- $2.8 billion of multi-year contracts announced in July 2026
That supports the bull case. But contracted ARR is not recognized revenue.
Horizon 1 was reportedly delivered and accepted in August 2026. Horizon 2 is expected to be fully operational by the end of September, followed by Horizon 3 and Horizon 4.
IREN is targeting 480 MW of gross capacity by the end of 2026 and 1.2 GW during 2027.
Cantor Fitzgerald’s $99 target is based on 7x CY28 EV/EBITDA. Its note also flagged access to capital and abrupt changes in AI sentiment as risks.
Nvidia Faces a High Bar
Nvidia is scheduled to report Q3 2026 earnings on Aug. 26.
Rosenblatt analyst Kevin Cassidy expects Nvidia to beat revenue and earnings, then guide above estimates. Rosenblatt kept a $325 target.
Cantor Fitzgerald reiterated Nvidia as a top pick with a $350 target.
The next system catalyst is Vera Rubin. Rosenblatt expects the ramp to begin in Q3.
Other claims are less clear.
ZeroHedge reported, citing The Information, that Nvidia was discussing a possible Perplexity deal at a valuation above $30 billion. The excerpt did not say whether this meant an acquisition, investment, partnership, financing round, or something else.
Elon Musk wrote that SpaceX and Nvidia designed a space-optimized Vera Rubin NVL72 system for launch in Q4 next year, with significant scale in 2028.
Other posts said Vera CPUs would power the next Grok generation. Deployment dates, financial commitments, and full implementation details were not supplied for several of these claims.
Colette Kress had a 10b5-1 plan covering up to 500,000 Nvidia shares. She terminated it in April 2026 without giving a reason.
The Rest of the AI Stack
Marvell is scheduled to report Q2 FY2027 earnings on Aug. 27. Its immediate test is a $2.7 billion guide after the July selloff.
Wells Fargo raised its target from $240 to $310 and sees a path to $11 per share in FY29 EPS.
The nearby calendar includes Nvidia earnings and a Marvell keynote on Aug. 26, an expected Rubin production ramp on Sep. 1, Broadcom and Ciena earnings on Sep. 3, an expected U.S. AI export-rules update and the AI Infra Summit on Sep. 15, Marvell’s dividend declaration on Sep. 17, ECOC sessions on Sep. 21, and Micron earnings on Sep. 22.
AMD crossed 30% of the x86 PC CPU market for the first time. The cited split puts Intel at 69.7% and AMD at 30.3%, while also listing ARM at 15.3%.
Shay Boloor said AMD gained nearly 10 points of x86 share in two years.
Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said:
“Today there is no AI without memory.”
One post argued that AI has permanently changed memory economics. Another claimed Micron could earn more than $500 million in profit per day by year-end.
That claim came with no filings, guidance, analyst estimates, or independent reporting. Cathie Wood’s opposing view is that HBM remains cyclical and commoditized.
Nebius has a similar evidence problem.
Goldman Sachs raised its target from $286 to $328 and maintained a buy rating. Separate posts claimed $50 billion of backlog, more than 1,500% revenue growth, a possible Anthropic deal, $10 billion in cash, and a stock price above $2,000 by 2030.
Those posts supplied no calculations, filings, valuation framework, or independent support.
Tencent is a quieter AI story. Gaming is 32% of revenue, down from 40% three years ago. Marketing services are growing 22% with help from AI, and Tencent reportedly handles 40% of China’s mobile-transactions market.
The speaker uses a 10% long-term growth assumption and sees time spent on gaming and mobile apps as a risk.
Iran Sanctions Escalated While Oil Fell
Reuters described the U.S. policy as expanded secondary sanctions.
A macro note said Treasury detailed “Operation Economic Outcast,” targeting digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping, plus about 60 entities, individuals, and vessels.
Iran promised retaliation. Bloomberg said the threat risks putting the U.S. on a collision course with China.
Oil still fell more than 2%.
The size of the flows is disputed. U.S. officials cited more than 8 million barrels a day, while commercial trackers estimated roughly 2 million to 6 million.
The Wall Street Journal said nighttime crossings and disabled transponders make the numbers difficult to verify.
Leon Panetta, cited by the geopoliticaleconomyreport blog, accused the Pentagon of a “shameful approach” to casualty disclosures.
The blog said a reported U.S. death count moved from 18 to 14 based on ceasefire timing. Its speaker also alleged that injuries had been withheld. These remain attributed claims.
Tariffs Remain as Treasury Expands Bond Buybacks
Reuters said U.S.-Canada trade talks broke down, leaving 50% tariffs on $20 billion of Canadian imports in place.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney promised a “dollar for dollar” response.
A separate note said tariffs on Canadian cars, trucks, and auto parts would rise to 50% on Jan. 1, 2027.
Treasury’s General Account contains around $950 billion. Treasury said it would double buybacks of off-the-run long-end securities from $2 billion to at least $4 billion.
Stanley Druckenmiller called the move a gimmick and said markets should determine yields freely.
Shein’s Valuation Reset
Shein is seeking a valuation near $27 billion while raising up to about $1.8 billion.
That compares with valuations of $98.2 billion or $100 billion in 2022.
First-quarter 2026 revenue grew just 1.1%. A $99 million loss replaced a $395 million profit from the same period a year earlier.
The end of the U.S. de minimis exemption weakened a core advantage. Regulatory investigations, fines, and ESG concerns remain.
Winston Ma put it simply:
“Public investors are no longer paying for hyper-growth.”
Data-Center Power Spending Reaches More Companies
Bloom Energy rose 10% after Nancy Pelosi disclosed purchases described as worth up to $12 million.
Another breakdown listed 15,000 Bloom shares, 200 Bloom call contracts, 10,000 Intel shares, and 50 Intel call contracts.
A supplied note said Bloom beat Q2 revenue estimates by 30% and more than doubled adjusted EPS estimates.
The same note cited Constellation’s supply to Meta and Microsoft, Vistra’s 20-year Meta nuclear deal, GE Vernova’s $2.4 billion of quarterly data-center orders, Vertiv’s 234% free-cash-flow growth to $925 million, and Talen’s nuclear capacity near data centers.
AI Work, Visa Fees, and the Fed
Goldman Sachs’ Chris Churchman warned that outsourcing reasoning to models could cause “cognitive atrophy.” He said Goldman had not figured out how to manage the transition.
The administration proposed a permanent $103,265 fee on certain new H-1B visas, compared with earlier typical fees of $2,000 to $5,000. Student-visa holders already in the U.S. and renewals would be exempt.
Reuters separately reported plans to revoke non-immigrant visas of foreigners seeking or having applied for asylum.
ClearValue Tax said his estimated chance of winning a wager that the Fed would not raise rates on Sept. 16 increased from 45% to 60%.
He cited a July loss of 23,000 jobs and CPI of 3.4%. Reports on Sept. 4 and Sept. 11 could change the odds.
Policy and Consumer Signals
The Supreme Court lifted one block on the mail-ballot executive order, while another remains.
South Korea’s Defense Ministry said North Korea continued preparations for a possible additional deployment to Russia, but saw no sign that one was imminent. Reuters said Britain and France pledged stronger military support for Ukraine.
Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, and Innovent are using obesity education campaigns in China because prescription medicines cannot be advertised directly to consumers.
China’s National Health Commission says the overweight or obese share could exceed 65% by 2030.
Singapore expanded family support after fertility fell to 0.87. Each Singaporean child will receive about S$70,000 through age 17, including S$10,000 at birth.
Elite U.S. private day schools average almost $50,000 a year, while boarding tuition can approach $80,000. Deerfield said qualifying domestic families below $150,000 would pay no tuition.
Reuters reported food-safety raids in Mumbai without naming companies or tickers, as well as a Fanta formulation difference between London and India. Only the China campaign supplied named-company facts.
Promotional posts covered Tesla, SpaceX, Nvidia, Amazon, Globalstar, Rocket Lab, ServiceNow, Broadcom, AMD, TSM, Arista, Vertiv, Dell, Oracle, ARM, Micron, Lumen, Waves, IREN, and Nebius. They did not provide enough support to treat their targets, launch claims, top-pick lists, or growth lists as investment cases.
Big contract targets come first. Delivering capacity, funding the buildout, and recognizing the revenue are IREN’s next tests.
